When temperatures rise and we see fresh green leaves starting to bud, it can only mean spring. This is one of my favourite times of year – when I get to put on a spring dress and open toe shoes! After a long winter, it’s a treat to leave the house without a jacket.
While shopping at October Boutique recently, I fell in love with this colourful shift dress by Suncoo from Paris. I have since worn it to dinner, to work meetings, and to a spring fashion show. I’ve been lucky enough to receive compliments on it (who doesn’t love that?!), even when stopping at Starbucks en route to the next meeting. The dress feels great and is a comfortable, versatile piece.
Paired with blush suede mules, this outfit is functional for long days (and keeps my feet happy – a win in my books). I came across the BCBGeneration mules at Nordstrom Rack during a quick trip to Scottsdale, Arizona this spring. For an evening look, I will switch out the mules for black pumps, the day bag for an evening clutch, and a bright lipstick to add flare and sophistication to the look.
For a bold print, the best accessories are those that stay classic and simple. My Pierre & Harry pearls are my favourite – treasures I purchased from a mother and daughter design team in Naples, Florida last fall.
My Muu bag was a special find in Lisbon, Portugal last spring during a trip with my family to celebrate Michael’s 50th birthday. It is handmade with buttery soft neutral pink leather, and fits everything (everything!) I need for the day, including my MacBook and iPad.
As always, my final touch for any spring look is a great pink lipstick, soft beige eye shadow, and sunglasses!
Enjoy the sunshine and this colourful time of year: open up your sunroof and let your hair fly!
